SUNDAY 1 DECEMBER
Players - We still require more Teams for this Event and would appreciate if Members could help by either entering a Team or speaking with Bowlers from other Clubs and promoting the Day.
Volunteers - We are looking for some Volunteers to help run the day, especially people to take the Entry Money from say 8.30am until 9.30am, help with the result recording (with Bryce Selwood) , setting up of Greens etc. If anyone can help out on this one off occasion then kindly contact either Bryce Selwood or Terry Driscoll.

Roving Around
Kerry phoned again and said AA get off your A. The editor's little bride is in a fierce combat with Jacko against Coral and Brad. Give me a report!
It was a great combat with Jacko and Jeni getting off to a flyer but to Brad and Coral's credit they over took the lead by 6 with 6 ends to go. All over red rover? No!! Only to see the 2 Js hit the lead by 2 with one end to go. B and C holding 2, moves the jack to go down by 1. What a great game in extremely cold trying conditions. Next door John Farrell was up against Rod (fade-away to a shadow) Bryant but Fade-aways line and length was too strong for John, well done Rod. Then last night stick man John Dalziel's line was far too consistent for Jason Smith, having a solid win. Stickman's grin was so broad he could hardly drink his winner's Red.
Yes, another game was going on, two Skips against two 2nds from Premiers. After about 7 ends a caption appeared in the clouds where have they been hiding their game. Yes Yanek (Joney love child) and Ray (Spider) took on Dan and Tommy. Spider had an out of this world game, air punching softly Dan straight faced thinking how good was that. What do we have to do? Yes, Yanek was himself with that 1/2 smile putting in some great bowls also.
It was not Dan and Tommies night. Well done Spider and Yanek with an extra mention for Ray's game. They are now in the grand final.
AA.

Junior Activities
Thanks to all club members who have assisted with our junior activities in recent weeks. Thursday November 14th saw the Schools Lawn Bowls Competition conducted at Highton.
We had some 42 students play in a Triples competition. Students from Geelong High School, Newcomb Secondary College, Western Heights College and a composite team from St Ignatius College participated in the day. The morning session saw the students divided into two pools and playing a sectional format. The afternoon session saw the top 2 from each pool play off against each other in the semi final before we saw the winners play off in the final.
Many thanks to Joan and Peter Ward and Gary Beasley for their diligent organisation which saw the day run very smoothly. Our thanks also to Paul Holtschke and to our club members who supported the activity by providing supervision on each of the rinks throughout the day. Without the support of all of these members it would not be possible to conduct days such as these.
Matt Lawrence, Jack Stoneham and Hamish Watson from Geelong High School were the eventual winners on the day with the composite team from St Ignatius Seb Monahan, Lachy Seear and Harry Coleman runners up.

Should you wish to submit a design then please contact Ben Lombardi (Mob: 0419 417113) or forward them to: ben@lomartworks.com
