From our Committee of Management
Committee of Management Report
Tonight is the night! .... First Friday in the Month
5.30pm - we kick off with some great guitar music with Lukey Luke. There'll be heaps of your old favourites being sung throughout the night. What's that, NO cover charge!
6.00pm - time for our usual weekly Raffle Draws (heaps of prizes)
6.15pm'sh - Weekly Members Draw. Has jackpotted to $600. Yes, you heard right! You know the drill, if your member number is drawn, you must be present to claim.
6.20pm'sh - Members Bonus $250 Draw (conducted on the first Friday in the month during bowls season. We will do up to 3 draws, in endeavour to reward a member present. This is in addition to the usual Friday evening Members “Jackpot Draw”. So by attending, first Friday in the month [tonight], you will have up to four chances to take some extra cash home.
Thereafter - back on the dance floor, to dance the night away. Take it easy, as quite a few of you are needed back on the green, for bowls tomorrow. Night will conclude 9.15/30pm.
So, like all Friday evenings members and guests can come along and enjoy the meals, drinks, raffles, camaraderie and members jackpot draw. Please let friends and guests know the benefits of being a Highton Bowls Club Social Member (at the very least).
$15 Roast Beef Dinner night, only available for those who have previously pre-ordered, has been greatly supported by members. I thank you, as order numbers have reached over 90. Please pay and have your name ticked off order sheet, when ready to eat. NB: Other regular Friday meals are available.
The Committee of Management is providing free music entertainment, along with Member Bonus Draw, for the first Friday of each month during bowls season. Continuation of these initiatives will be determined by member support. Judging by estimated attendees for tonight looks like an ongoing arrangement. Hip hoorah!
Our Pennant season has commenced this week - Midweek on Tuesday, and Saturday Pennant tomorrow. I wish all bowlers a rewarding and successful season.

and another thing ....
Visible presence = promotion, recruiting, & sponsorship
After two recent practice matches, 3 Highton bowlers (in club uniform / social shirts) visited the Highton Village Shops for 5-10 mins of quick shopping, the following week 5 more Highton bowlers (in club uniform / social shirts) visited the Highton Shops for 5-10 mins quick shopping. As our bowlers walked around the shops their uniform presence was highly visible and attracted the attention of locals and sponsors. Subsequent feedback to the club was good, those brief uniformed visits helped to raise the club profile and created favourable interest. Accordingly, we are happy to encourage more Highton bowlers to pay brief visits (in club uniform / social shirts) to the Highton shops, hopefully our brief uniform visits will promote our club and also help to increase our membership and sponsorship.
