Member's Handbooks & Membership Cards -are available, for those who have not already collected.
For Members' we have introduced the following initiative:
Members Bonus $250 Draw - to be conducted on the first Friday in the month (during bowls season). We will do up to 3 draws, in endeavour to reward a member present. This is in addition to the usual Friday evening Members “Jackpot Draw”. So by attending, first Friday in the month, you will have up to four chances to take some hard earned cash home!
That's not all, on these first monthly Friday's; we will be providing free music entertainment. So, like all Friday evenings (members and guest), come along and enjoy the meals, drinks, raffles, camaraderie and members jackpot draw. Please let friends and guests know the benefits of being a Highton Bowls Club Social Member (at the very least).
We kick off on the 4th October with some great guitar music being sung by Lukey Luke. You have asked, we have listened, and this night will have a $15 Roast Beef dinner available, in addition to the regular meals. If you wish to avail of the Roast dinner, then you MUST pre-order by placing your name on the List, located on West wall / Social Section, in clubrooms.

Membership Draw
No winner again last week, so it has jackpotted to $550 for this week.
Members Duty Roster
David Brown and Rodney Bryant are on duty Monday 30 Sep to Sunday 6 Oct.
Following week 7 Oct to 13 Oct, will be Russell Bryant and Max Burwood.

Thankyou - to all members who attended the Opening of the Season last Thursday evening. Thanks to all those who assisted with catering both on the Thursday night and for the function on Friday.
Club Handbook
Club Handbooks and Membership cards are available and are currently being distributed to players as they come to the club.
Ladies Tuesday Social Bowls
Ladies social bowls will commence Tuesday October 1st. same day as pennant. List of interested players and further detail on outside notice board.
Please tell other members who may not see this notice. Also these days are open for other non pennant players from other clubs who may wish to participate.
Subway Triples Summer Season
Subway summer series 2 bowls men's triples starts next week, Thursday 3rd October, get your teams together and register them with Rod Ollis.
BOWLS SECTION
Emergency contact details
All players are asked to ensure that bowls bags and personal items are clearly labelled. Players are also encouraged to carry emergency contact details in an accessible location. To this end we have available some small laminated type cards which can be used for this purpose. Please see Don/Marion Lyne if you would like an emergency contact card.
All Pennant Players
At 11.00 am, Monday, September 30th, John Hulme will be available to speak with players clarifying a number of rules - including the Rule for use of the Bowlers Arm, use of mobile phones and what to do in the event of players arriving late or absent from a team. John is also willing to answer any questions players may have.
GBR Handbooks
We have been advised that GBR Handbooks are currently at the printers and will be available later next week. GBR Draws are able to be accessed on their web site and have been posted on the notice board.
SATURDAY PENNANT
Intra Club Practice match - this Sunday, 29 September 1pm start at Highton.
Conditions of play:
- Mufti
- Green Fees ($8) apply
- 21 ends straight through (25 ends for those playing 2 bowl triples)
MIDWEEK PENNANT
Midweek Pennant players are reminded that our training session on Monday, September 30th will commence at 9.15am.
GBR has advised us that in the short term we will be manually recording Pennant results until such time as clubs have access to the new on line Bowls Link system for this purpose. Team Managers will meet at the start of the session on Monday to be briefed on the manual recording process which will be used on Tuesday.
Bowls Discs - Anyone needing new discs they will be available on Monday at Practice.

Entry sheets and Conditions of Play are now listed on the Men's and Ladies Notice Boards for:
- Pairs Events - Draws are listed on the notice boards. Please note that the first round must to be completed by Wednesday 2 October 2019 for Ladies, and Sunday 6 October for Men.
- Veterans Events (70Yr+) -- last chance as entries close on Monday 30 September 2019. Ladies at 11.00am, Men's at 5.30pm.
- Novice Events - entries close on Monday 7 October 2019. Ladies at 11.00am, Men's at 5.30pm.
- Singles Club Championship - Men's entries close on Monday 14 October 2019 at 5.30pm, and Ladies entries close on Monday 11 November at 11.00am. Please note that this event will be played on the Top Grass Green.
- Mixed Pairs Events - entries close on Monday 28 October 2019 at 5.30pm.
Entry fee of $10.00pp (covers all events) and is payable prior to close of entries.

Over 60's Singles
Congratulations to Belinda Koek and Ben Lombardi who played in "the last 16" of the Over 60's Singles last night. Ben had a good game against Barry Close but was not able to progress further. Our best wishes to Belinda who was successful and has progressed to the semi final to be played on Sunday, September 29th at City (10am) . Belinda is to play Faye Richardson
Event Entries
A summary of GBR events for the 2019-2020 season has been posted on the notice board at the east end
of the club rooms. Entry forms are shown for those events with closing dates in September.
If you wish to enter an event please complete the entry form on the notice board and pay the $ 10
entry fee. Clearly list your name, and specific GBR event you wish to enter on the white envelope
provided and show the amount paid, then post the envelope in the slot beside the bar. GBR will not
accept late entries so entries will close at club level on the day prior to the date shown by GBR to ensure
that we meet the GBR deadline. (Please make sure that you are available to play on each of the dates
scheduled).
