    Bowls Section

Bowls Section: Clothing - List is up on the rear Notice Board for anyone wanting to Order a Social Polo Shirt, Hoodie or Jacket

Club Handicap Events: There is a proposal being considered for Club Handicap Events ( President's & 100Up) to commence with the difference in the handicaps rather than commencing with the individual handicaps. This hopefully could possibly see the games shortened.

Bowls Committee along with our Match Committee are also giving consideration to both the Ladies & Men's Club Championship rounds and Finals to be played on GRASS surface.

GBR : Annual General Meeting is being conducted this coming Monday and we will report back next week with any news out of this.

Australian Open: A few of our members have either departed or are about to head North and will participate in the Australian Open Events on the Gold Coast. We wish them safe travels and good bowling, and we also wish safe travelling to ALL our members who may be departing our shores over the next month or so in search of better weather.

    Midweek Pennant

The challenge ahead for Midweek bowls is how best do we become more competitive and consistent as a rink, recruiting is always difficult for any club, we have been able to gain excellent support through our men players with the intention of being filtered through as many divisions as possible, this will provide support to those divisions and hopefully allow us as a club to become more competitive at all levels.

We are considering adding a further 2 teams in division7, this will ensure all bowlers will get a game, and in addition we have a number of emergency players when we have unavailability.

Now that we have unification of both Saturday and Mid-week comps the same scoring card of players performance will be recorded by the skips only, we encourage each rink to collectively discuss overall performance after the game prior to completing the card, this is intended to help selection committees evaluate players and receive feed-back from the skips as to how it is best to improve the overall performance of their rink .

A number of practice matches have been arranged prior to the season we will let you know clubs and dates once confirmed.

Ray McCorkell - Chairman Midweek Selectors
