End of Season Dinner and Club Presentations
The End of Season Dinner and Presentation Night was held last Wednesday, April 4th.
Thank you to everyone who assisted with helping to make our End of Season Dinner and Presentation Night a great celebration of our club's successes. Over 120 members attended and enjoyed a delicious meal.
Congratulations to the GBR winners/finalists, Club event and Championship winners and Supervets. It has been a good year for Highton.
Awards were presented by Di Monk (Ladies President) and Greg Cracknell (Men's President).

Volunteers Appreciation Night - Wednesday April 11th at 5.30pm.Finger food and a drink provided.
For catering purposes those planning to attend, please put your names on the list on the notice board.
Nomination Forms for the Annual Elections will be posted in the Club from Friday March 16th. Nominations will close on April 16th. Members please give consideration to taking on Leadership roles in your Club.
The Committee of Management is currently going through the process of increasing the hours covered by our Limited Liquor Licence. This process requires a Public Notice to be posted on the Main Street frontage of the Club. That notice is now attached to the Fence facing North Valley Road. This notice must be displayed from March 16th until April 13th. If members notice the Notice is missing or damaged please notify John Jackson or Jenny Foley so it can be replaced. It is a legal requirement that it be displayed.

Proposed Changes to Constitution and Regulations
Special General Meetings are being organised to consider changes to our Constitution and Regulations.
Ladies will have their meeting on Monday 9 April and Men will have their meeting on Tuesday 17 April planned to be at 6:30pm. Only Full, Veteran and Life members are entitled to vote.

SUBWAY Monthly Triples
Subway Summer segment of our Thursday Monthly 2 bowl triples has now closed. G. Ott's team were the winners of the summer aggregate competition. Well done to Graeme Ott's team with 560 points. Second place went to Graeme Wright's team with 505 points.
I would like to thank all teams from all clubs who entered. Thanks to our new members who played in this event for the first time even at late notice to fill in, which was a good way for them to meet other club members on this day.
Subway Monthly Triples continues over the winter period.
I am looking for more members from our club to participate in this event, so you can also meet other members from our club. Please add your names to the list as a team or single entry. I would like to thank Max Burwood, Bruce Peake and Rolly Flounders for their help in running this event.

Midweek Pennant 2018-19
URGENT :- Selection Committee need your support by placing your name down for Midweek Pennant.
Numbers are to be in by July to the Geelong Bowls Region, so as soon as you can please let us know if you are available.
This coming season available is ladies only depending on clubs placing their interest and restricted pennant . Highton Club will place teams in on availability of players

Saturday Sandwich Roster: Thank you to all those members that have volunteered to assist with this rather large task - both preparing the sandwiches and serving and cleaning up after afternoon tea.
Members rostered for duty in coming weeks Probus Day - Tuesday, April 10th Division rostered for duty - 4 & volunteers Ros Leigh and Marg Dalziel are co-ordinating this day and will contact individuals with the specific time that they are required. Biggest Afternoon Tea: Cancer fundraiser - Friday May 4th - Ladies Committee hosting this event - could members please bring a plate. Players will be asked to pay $10 on the day, with $3 donation of this money going to towards the fund raiser.

Attention all Ladies:
A Special Meeting of all Ladies is being called for 10am on Monday, April 9th, to meet with John Finlayson (Club legal consultant) regarding the proposed changes to the club constitution, in particular the change to one bowls committee, i.e. the unification of the Men's and Ladies Committees.
John Finlayson will be available to answer questions before the Ladies group are required to vote on this matter. Please take the opportunity to read the draft constitution on the east end notice board and also available electronically by contacting Jenny Foley.
This Special Meeting will be followed by a brief Information Session and morning tea. Please bring a plate to share.
Men's Committee
On the 17th of April, we will be holding a Special General Meeting of the Men's section. The meeting will be an information session on proposed changes to our constitution with a focus on unification and its likely impacts. Meeting will be at 6.30 (subject to confirmation from John Finlayson)

Disco Bingo - Saturday, 14 April
One of our club sponsors (Barwon Tyre and Auto) are involved in running an upcoming disco bingo night to raise money for Camp Quality- it works like regular bingo but with music rather than numbers. As the event is being held at the club and our members have been good supporters of their previous fundraisers they have asked for assistance with advertising the event.
At our club, 6:30 for 7:00 pm start on Saturday 14 April. $25pp, tables of 8 to 10.

Ladies 5 a Side Competition
This week saw the second day of the annual 5-aside competition held at Highton Bowls Club. The competition is in it's fourth year. Organised by Elaine Coles and her merry band.
Triples Winners were Magpies : J. Verhoef, M Graham and D James. Emus were runners up : J Hayles, R Leigh and M Wiggins
Pairs Winners were the Wrens : D Graham and S Murray. Runners up were J Bell and J Ward.
Chicken Hawk award this week went to the Budgies.

Competition continues next week on Thursday 12 April.
