Committee of Management Report
First Friday Function : A very successful members night was held last Friday evening. Over 100 people enjoyed themselves, with raffles, special roast dinner, drinks, music and the additional chances to win Member Draws. The weekly jackpot of $600 didn't go off, but the special monthly bonus draw of $250 did, on the third and final chance draw.

The club seeks a Grants Assistant. We seek the services of member/s, with background and interest, who can assist our existing Grants Teams. Please express interest to Mike Currie (Secretary) or Arthur Francis (House Director).
Reminder to all bowlers/members - NO SMOKING within 3 metres of ANY green. Further signage will be provided on each green. This policy will be reviewed further next year.
Pleased to report new Score Boards have been ordered for bottom green (#1).
Over a year ago, members were advised our club achievement Honour Boards would no longer be updated, being transitioned to digital records, as displayed on clubroom TV screens, and permanently removed from clubroom walls. This transitional period of 12 months has been reached. Committee of Management members will think through the logistics and report back to next meeting. NB: Cost to annually update boards is a major monetary issue.
Tiger Turf has approached us to seriously consider bringing forward the carpet replacement of our green (#2) from April 2020 to Monday 16 December 2019. There were advantages for and against, with decision made to accept request. Replacement work will be carried our prior to Xmas and green will be unavailable for 7 working days (weather permitting). Santa has delivered.

GBR Championship Events
Over 60's Pairs
The Over 60's Pairs games were played last Sunday in extremely windy conditions which saw the mats being blown around at Lara. Well done to the players in the frustrating conditions with Belinda and Wendy managing to progress to the second round but unfortunately going down in the afternoon. Congratulations to Rob Chambers and Tim Jenkinson who won both of their games played at St Leonards on Sunday, progressing through to the next round which was played last night. Unfortunately they were not successful in the third round.
Event Entries
A summary of GBR events for the 2019-2020 season has been posted on the notice board at the east end of the club rooms. Entry forms are shown for those events with closing dates in September. If you wish to enter an event please complete the entry form on the notice board and pay the $ 10 entry fee. Clearly list your name, and specific GBR event you wish to enter on the white envelope provided and show the amount paid, then post the envelope in the slot beside the bar. GBR will not accept late entries so entries will close at club level on the day prior to the date shown by GBR to ensure that we meet the GBR deadline. (Please make sure that you are available to play on each of the dates scheduled).
